A biography about Wallin and his travels to the Middle East written for a young audience. In lovely condition.His first journey was made in 1845 and took him to Jubbah and Hail, and further to Mecca. Wallin's second journey took him across the Hijaz mountains to Tabuk in the north-eastern part of Arabia, continuing on to Taima on the edge of Wahhabi territory and he became the first European to set foot there. In 1850 he returned to Finland where he was appointed professor of Oriental languages at Helsinki University.
