ISBN: 9780620124768 Inscribed on ffep by one author thus: "To Jack & Faye, with Love, Hermione". The story of one woman's childhood. District Six lives on briefly in this personal memoir of Hettie Adams and the characters of her family in her world of William Street. The District Six community was uprooted with the application of the Group Areas Act and dispersed for ever. Despite reparations the area is now part of upmarket international Cape Town, the original inhabitants being mostly consigned to the remote Cape Flats suburbs.

Postage
Prices quoted exclude p&p and forex charges which will quoted for each order. For local customers books will be sent by Pudo locker-to-locker. Overseas postings will be by Economy Courier.
Descriptions
Books are described in good faith in accordance with usual trade definitions and all major defects noted. Minor inscriptions & marks, etc. may be ignored unless book is VG or better.
Payments
Local customers to make an electronic transfer (EFT).
Overseas customers will be sent a PayPal invoice.
We have a US bank account for $$ payments by US corporate customers only.
Returns
Each purchase can be returned to the seller within 7 days after reception, without explanation (an e-mail to notify the seller would be appreciated however), after which the billed amount (excluding postage costs) will be restituted to the buyer. If the buyer returns the goods to the seller because the description of the books does not conform to the actual condition of the goods then the billed amount including the postage costs will be restituted to the buyer. Returned goods should be received by the seller in the same condition as when sent to the buyer. The risk of returning goods is for the account of the sender, they should be sent by courier as the South African Post Office no longer offers a viable commercial service and we are unlikely to receive such parcels.

Cost of shipping within The Netherlands according to PostNL rates. For shipping to Belgium and Germany we charge a standard fee of Euro 7,25 for a maximum weight of 2 kg.
We use a return policy of 14 days, the shipping cost to the Netherlands is for the customer. We refund the amount that is already paid in full, if we receive the book(s) undamaged.
