Light browning, minor light waterstain to head of several leaves, new e.ps., rebound in buckram lettered in gilt to upper board. ¶ The plates and explanations taken from the eleven volumes of plates of the 35-volume edition of the Encyclopedie, ou Dictionnaire raisonne des sciences, des arts et des metiers, published between 1751 and 1777, comprising 17 volumes of text, 11 volumes of plates, 4 supplementary volumes, 2 volumes of index, and 1 supplementary volume of plates. The work comprised 71,818 articles, and 3,129 illustrations.
