All four volumes were printed by John Heyword at the Excelsior Printing and Bookbinding Works in Manchester, England. Volume One is rebound in full maroon cloth (20th Century), gilt lettering on spine, and was published on March 20, 1891. The other three volumes are in the publisher's original purple cloth, with a gilt medallion of the Psycho-Philosophical Society on front cover, gilt lettering on spine, ruled borders on pages. Volume Two was published on May 1, 1892. Volume Three was published on March 21, 1903. Volume Four was published on June 21, 1910. xxiv, 558; xvi, 502; xvi, 535; xiv, (ii), 370 pp. Volume 1 has some pencilled underlining throughout, otherwise unmarked, binding tight, square, and clean. Volume 2 has soiled endpapers and a paste-down on the fep stating the names and address of the persons to whom "this volume was entrusted," as does Volume 3. In Volume 4 the paste-down is blank. Volume 3 has a faded spine and some light foxing. Volume 4 has light fading on the spine. All of the volumes are tight and square, with strong hinges.
