Edges are heavily rubbed. The binding is extremely weak, with some pages barely hanging on by a thread. Occasional staining, most heavily on pages 506-507. Text otherwise unmarked. OFFERED AS-IS. Volume 12 of the women's magazine COSMOPOLITAN, with issues spanning November 1891 through April 1892. Contains the poems "A False Prophecy" and "Refuge" by George MacDonald (who had a huge influence on C.S. Lewis), an article on squids by naturalist Ernest Ingersoll, essays on social problems by Unitarian author Edward Everett Hale, and an interesting article on the history of fancy shoes by the interior designer Elsie de Wolfe. Contains lots of black and white illustrations. Fair .
