The jacket is mildly edge worn but still whole and intact, Rose has signed his name at the bottom right of the front free endpaper; there is a second gift inscription by the former owners on the top left of the same page. Written in the author's glory years when he was a young player destined for future greatness and long before his sordid gambling history came to light.
