Dark lilac paper covered boards. 85 pp. A collection of essays/speeches on the Psi Upsilon fraternity and its history, discussing important events in its history, as well as important members, including William Howard Taft. Signed, with an inscription by Earl D. Babst, a noted lawyer, industrialist and businessman who through litigation helped standardize packaging of merchandise being sold in various states, which served to deregulate and streamline distribution of goods. Babst, as president of the American Sugar Refining Company, helped to repackage and market sugar, advocating for it to be sold prepackaged in cartons, which helped reduce waste and improve sanitation due to less handling of sugar (see Bentley Historical Library, University of Michigan's, website for bio). GOOD+ condition. Moderate fading, heavier along the spine. Small chip missing from the head of the spine. Stray pen lines in the margins of a few pages. Good .
