Moser's evocative illustration depicts sides of meat hanging from hooks. Printed on a charcoal gray background, the title is printed in red & white above the image. Printed in pink under the image is the author's name and relevant details: "Franz Xaver Kroetz. Translated by Roger Downey. Cover Art and Design by Barry Moser". Publication information and credits are printed in small white print at the bottom of the poster. Fine.

Roy. 8vo., Fourth Edition, with a frontispiece,69 plates (several in collotype) and 110 illustrations in the text; original red buckram, upper board elaborately blocked and lettered in gilt, gilt back, gilt top, very neatly recased, a near fine copy. With 24pp publisher's catalogue bound in at end. MICHAEL CHERNIAVSKY'S COPY WITH HIS SIGNED INSCRIPTION ON FRONT FREE ENDPAPER. Anderson's major survey was first published in 1896. A second edition (incorporating a table of principal buildings) followed in 1898 and was reissued in 1900. The present edition is the largest and best, with a considerably enlarged quota of plates and illustrations. Michael Theodore Cherniavsky (1920-1992) was a renowned and long-serving (1948-1966) master of history at Christ's Hospital School and subsequently Professor of History at the University of Waterloo, Ontario from 1967 to 1983. A lovely copy.
