Major E.R. Elliott - Royal Pioneers. 1945-1993

S.P.A, 1993. Gekartonneerd met stofomslag. Pp: 444. When the Auxiliary Military Pioneer Corps initially formed in October 1939 it was said tbat 'no formastion of the Army started its existence in less auspicious circumstances and suffering such severe handicaps". Hurriedly mobilised, they were dispatched to France during these early days of the conflict. That military labour survived this period due large to the supply of highly motivated officers: men were imposed a high standard of conduct and efficiency in their formations and, above all, were able to lift the flagging morale of their men. Pioneers went on to perform a wide variety of tasks, taking part in the landings of North Africa, Sicily, Italy and Normandy. This splendid history details all the major events and changes that have taken place. ISBN: 9781854211811. Cond./Kwaliteit: Goed.
