The 176 plates reproduce 138 drawings, most of them previously unpublished and wrongly attributed, as well as a great part of his surviving oeuvre, also largely unpublished. J. A. Gere was the Deputy Keeper of Prints and Drawings in the British Museum. He has selected and catalogued exhibitions of Zuccaro drawings in the Uffizi and Louvre. The volume is in virtually perfect condition, with no ownership marks and only the slightest shelf-wear along the top and bottom edges and at the head and heel of the spine.
