A very ambitious early post-war county plan, with excellent maps and plans. This is the very scarce "Preliminary Edition". W Dobson Chapman, now largely forgotten, was a Macclesfield Planning Consultant. He had been President of the TPI, and was responsible for some other important town plans, including Blaydon c1933, Macclesfield, 1944 and Aberdeen and Dundee, 1952.
