Paperback, rubbed with edge wear and scuffing to spine. Scarce. G+.** "This publication, based exclusively on documents - mostly German - purports to draw a more complete picture f the personality and activities of war criminal Erich von dem Bach. In many details von dem Bach differed from the typical chiefs of the Nazi police and SS leaders. He was undoubtedly superior to many of his colleagues in the Himmler apparatus as concerns intelligence, political ability and elasticiity of tactics. His methods of action were therefore all the more perfidious and dangerous, and frequently more effective in the realization of the criminal plans of the Third Reich with regard to the nations of eastern Europe. The fact that von dem Bach like many others, was never held responsible by the German courts for his war crimes reveals German Federal Republic's attitude towards the Nazi past.". (Preface).
