London, Society for Promoting Christian Knowledge 1905 by inscription colour illustration to each leaf and to cover by Van dyck with covers illustration "printed in Bavaria" . folio [365 x 244mm] cloth spined boards [spine discoloured but without splits or tears/edges of boards worn/some marks/lower brown cover somewhat bashed] 24 leaves all of which are stubbed so as to make it easier to turn the pages which are printed on one side only on stiff paper. The last leaf has some pale brown marks on the blank side of the leaf. There are endpapers printed with 60+ rats to each of the four leaves and other rats, in ones and twos, on the margins of the text. The endpapers on the back have some damage leaving a tear to the pastedown and its free endpaper. There is a small tear without loss to the last text leaf and none of the other pages have any tears. The titlepage has a neat gift inscription in the top corner dated 1905.
