Now revised and grealy enlarged by Theodore Besterman. Vol. I. : pp.xx./pp.375/[1p. - colophon]. Vol. II. : pp.vii./[1p.]/pp.340/[1p.] . Each volume with Grey dustwrapper, now protected by a removable clear plastic cover. The dustwrappers have edge tears and are lightly soiled. Each volume in clean brown cloth and bright gilt titles to the spine, just light bumping to the corners. Clean text throughout, just a couple of light brown blemishes. A very good set. ** "Alfred Ernest Crawley (11 July 1867 – 21 October 1924) was an English schoolmaster, sexologist, anthropologist, sports journalist and exponent of ball games. Crawley reached the quarterfinals of Wimbledon in 1902 and 1906.[3] He also reached the quarterfinals of Queens in 1913. Though lawn tennis was Crawley's favourite sport, he was also fond of golf, figure-skating, fives, and revolver shooting..
