F.M. Chertier - Nouvelles recherches sur les feux d`artifice

chez l'auteur, [1854]. Half leather. This fascinating book shows that there is more to the chemistry of fireworks than meets the eye. Chertier is generally considered to be one of the great pioneers of present day pyrotechny. The colours formed when chlorine combines with various elements were first observed by him in 1836. This interesting work, which was first published in 1843, introduces a number of important chemicals into the pyrotechnist's range. Although new ingredients have been introduced since the time of his writing, there can be no doubt that Chertier stands alone in the literature of pyrotechny. Cond./Kwaliteit: Goed.
