BONN, Andreas.- M.BERKMAN.- ALS.- 1776.- - Autograph letter to M.Berkman, dean of the Surgeon's Guild, dated December 20, 1776, regarding a correction in the proofs of the latest version of the Surgeon's Guild address book. The correction suggested by Bonn pertains to the correct entry and title for Petrus Camper, being an 'Honoraris Professor' or 'Professor honorarius'. 'Mijn Waarde Vriend... of men ook eenige verandering zoude kunnen maaken omtrent de plaatsing van den Hooggel: Heer P.Camper, welke als professor int boekje staat, terwijl zijned: in functie niet met mij gelijk staat, maar honorair is, t geen tot nog toe vergeten is agter zijned, naam te voegen...'

(1 page w. 18 lines of text; 2 blank pages, 1 page w. address & nice intact red lacquer seal). (Paper nicely and correctly watermarked with crowned postal 'Horn, lettered GR', see Churchill, item 323, for the year 1776, Gerrevink; Heawood, items 2751 - 54, 2756 - 58, for the years 1757 - 1789). DMB [Lindeboom], c. 200 - 201: Andreas Bonn [1738 - 1818], anatomy and surgery. Graduated MD 1763 and studied anatomy and surgery in Paris, appointed professor of Anatomy and surgery in Amsterdam 1771.
