One page biography of subject laid in. Scarce. Published on August 30, 1873, depicting Field Marshal Sir William Maynard Gomm, GCB (10 November 1784 – 15 March 1875), a British Army officer. After taking part in the Anglo-Russian invasion of Holland, he served in most of the battles of the Napoleonic Wars. Vanity Fair was a British magazine known for its social, political, and literary content. It gained fame particularly for its caricatures of prominent figures of the time. These caricatures, drawn by renowned artists, captured the essence of their subjects with a mix of humor, satire, and artistry. .
