Published on February 28, 1880, depicting John William Maule Ramsay, 13th Earl of Dalhousie, KT, PC (29 January 1847 – 25 November 1887), styled Lord Ramsay between 1874 and 1880, a Scottish naval commander, courtier and Liberal politician. He served as Secretary for Scotland in William Ewart Gladstone's short-lived 1886 administration. Vanity Fair was a British magazine known for its social, political, and literary content. It gained fame particularly for its caricatures of prominent figures of the time. These caricatures, drawn by renowned artists, captured the essence of their subjects with a mix of humor, satire, and artistry. .
