The Family is a private club in San Francisco, California, formed in 1901 by newspapermen who left the Bohemian Club after Hearst published a piece presaging the assassination of President McKinley. Famous members included: Ty Cobb, Henry J. Crocker, Arthur Fiedler, Peter E. Haas, William Randolph Hearst, Herbert Hoover, John J. Pershing Timothy Pflueger, William Saroyan. Provenance: O'Day, Edward F. 1883-1959, was the editor and publisher of The Town Talk in San Francisco (ca. 1915 - 1930). .
