Description: Paris: Garnier Freres, [ca. 1900]. Folding map of Paris, showing important streets, Metro stops, buildings, and monuments. Map is in color. Map is 30 x 25-1/4 inches; it folds into a 16mo, 4-1/2 x 6-1/16 inch booklet bound in red cloth with gilt print and designs. Map engraved by L. Poulmaire, printed by Dufrenoy, based on a map by cartographer Dufour in 1878. This printing is undated, but post-Metro, it looks to be from around 1900. The booklet holding the map also has 13 pp. of guidebook entries, giving schedules of various points of interest etc. First page is pasted to cover; other pages are sewn in. Sewn pages loose in binding, but attached and all present. Map itself is in Very Good plus condition, with no tears or holes. A small stain on verso (blank) does not bleed through to image on recto. In remarkably good shape for a folding map of this vintage. .
