Son of Joseph Damian Cavilla (Gibraltar, 1837) and Luisa Vantrai (Tangier, 1844), daughter of a French consular worker stationed in Morocco, Honoré Vantrai. Provenance: A 19th Century guest at John Ansaldo's Continental Hotel, Tangier. Manuscript description of the photograph on hotel stationery. .
