Das auf der Bodenseeinsel gelegene Schlosshotel wurde auf dem Gelände eines ehemaligen Dominikanerklosters errichtet, das 1875 auf Initiative von Eberhard Graf Zeppelin (1842-1906), dem Bruder des berühmten Luftschiffpioniers, eingeweiht wurde. Ferdinand von Zeppelin, der 1838 auf dieser Insel geboren wurde. Eigentümer und Gesellschafter mit Familienmitgliedern, Eberhard Zeppelin, übertrug die Leitung des Hotels 1902 oder 1903 dem Schweizer Hotelier Matthis Brunner aus Glarus, der die Insel und das Schloss kaufte 1907 für 820.000 Reichsmark...Situé sur l'Ile du lac de Constance (Bodensee), le palace hôtel est construit à la place d’un ancien couvent Dominicain, inauguré en 1875 sur l’initiative d’Eberhard Graf Zeppelin (1842-1906), frère du célèbre pionnier du dirigeable, Ferdinand von Zeppelin, qui est né sur cette île en 1838.
