This new edition contains 328 pages. 186 works have been added and there are 276 updated or revised entries. The main source for new works are auction catalogues from American, English, French, Swiss and German auction houses. A secondary source for newly added entries include works that were also not catalogued by Zervos, but ended up in museums, notably the Musée Picasso, Antibes. The main post-2000 exhibition catalogues covering the period 1944-1949 are: Picasso. La Joie de Vivre, 1945-1948 organized by the Palazzo Grassi, Venezia and the Musée Picasso, Antibes in 2006 and Picasso 1945-1949, l’ère du renouveau organized by the Musée Picasso, Antibes in 2009. Picasso’s heirs are the primary consignors of newly catalogued works that were sold at auction. There are also drawings that Picasso drew spontaneously for friends, acquaintances and strangers. Some of these are drawn directly into books about the master, normally on half-titles or title pages. .
