Handsomely bound 20 volume set of the works of Jean-Jacques Rousseau. Rousseau was a Francophone Genevan philosopher, writer, and composer of the 18th century. His political philosophy influenced the Enlightenment in France and across Europe, as well as aspects of the French Revolution and the overall development of modern political and educational thought. Lot Amendments Condition: Varying amounts of wear and scuffing to leather with rubbing to extremities, a handful of volumes with some loss and peeling to spines, vol. 5 with vertical split to spine leather at joint; each volume with decorative bookplate with name blacked out, darkening to endpaper edges, interiors solid with light toning and bits of light foxing; overall very good. .
