In Godards Le Grand Escroc (The Big Swindler), Jean again plays Patricia Franchini, four years on from Breathless, and now a reporter for a San Francisco television station. The story takes place in Morocco where Patricia interviews a counterfeiter whose idea of charity is to give out fake money to the poor. Filming took place rapidly in Marrakech but the sketch was deemed by the producers to be the weakest of the five and dropped from the final film. .
