Contemporary half roan gilt, raised bands, decorated compartments, maroon calf gilt spine label, matching boards, marbled endpapers. Binders ticket - John Crawford, Kirkcaldy to rear paste-down. Extremes rubbed with wear. John Crawford was active in Kirkcaldy between 1833 and 1881. He is listed principally as a bookseller and printer in SBTI with the only reference to binding being a note that he was apprenticed to George Brodie, Kirkcaldy in 1825 or 1826.
