The 'Memoirs' and 'Fugitive Pieces' are usually catalogued separately, but are generally, as here, found in one volume. Boyne says of Cole - 'He was the Thomas Gent of his day, but very unlike him in one respect; Cole published very few copies so as to keep his books rare ...' The verso of the second preface leaf states 'the impression of this work is limited to 230 copies.' Franks 13228.
