Description: London: printed for W Parker, and sold by J Johnson and W Brown, 1777. 8vo. [ii]ii, v-viii, 47[1]pp, fine frontis plate. Recent old-plain-paper wraps. Housed in a modern half cloth fold-over box, spine lettered direct. Frontis with small stamp of the 'Birmingham Medical Institute Library', the contents of which were sold by auction in 2012. Magellan (1722-1790) was an Augustinian prior whose work improved on the earlier labours of Priestley; his researches were favourably reviewed by the London Magazine in 1783.
