Description: Thirsk: Z. Wright, printer, 1904. 22cm. 95[1]pp. Original pictorial printed green paper wraps, stapled; purpose-made slip-case. Staples rusted with associated stains to wraps, but holding firm; wraps very lightly soiled. Franks took part in the 'Heavy Brigade' charge, an hour before the more notorious 'Charge of the Light Brigade'. After the battle he was nursed by Florence Nightingale at Scutari. The work includes much about the Turkish and French troops. Wright does not appear to have been a prolific printer of books; according to DISCOVER he was active between 1879 and 1926, but has only eleven entries. DISCOVER: York Minster.
