In Janssens' installations and sculptures without a fixed form (steam, mist, light effects, optical illusion, colours) the movement, the transition from one material to another, is central. In that fragility lies the beauty for her. Janssens took part in the Venice Biennale in 1999 and the Sydney Biennale in 2012. She created light effects for choreographies by Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker. In 2020 the Danish museum Louisiana devoted an exhibition to Janssens.
