Signed and inscribed by the author together with handwritten letter by the author. The story of Leonora who arrived in Australia in the 1830's expecting her husband to conduct her to his station homestead. Instead finding no husband and the homestead a hovel. Leonora however is undaunted by her situation and with the help of a male convict establishes the first brick-making business on the North side of Sydney harbour. This story is based on records and personal items belonging to "Leonora" which are in the author's family possession.
