Includes the life of Wills, boyhood and sailing on the Janet Mitchell his arrival at Port Phillip, his life at a sheep station on the Edward river at Deniliquin and life there. surveying, his description of Melbourne costs for lodgings and produce and Canvas Town across the river Yarra Yarra. The proposal for the expedition its delays and figures involved including Doctor Von Mueller, Mr. Landells, Mr. O'Shannassy. Mr. Nicholson and the Royal Society of Melbourne or the Exploration Fund Committee whose members included Professor McCoy, Dr. Mueller, Angus McMillan and many others. Excellent description of expedition leaving Melbourne from what is now the Royal Society of Victoria building.
