Adelaide, Hussey & Gillingham Limited, 1912. Henry Lipson Hancock 1867-1935, developed a system of Sunday school curriculum of world-class standard, just prior to the First World War. Hancock travelled to the US to view methods of teaching, and developed an Australian curriculum. Based on current theories of the day, grades were introduced according to children's ages, and carefully prepared lessons were presented by trained teachers. Hancock apparently had great success using a version of the monitorial system of teaching.
