Description: First Australian Editions; Demy 12mo; pp. approx 500 pages each; all uniformly bound in contemporary half leather bindings, titles lettered in gilt on spine, marbled endpapers and page edges, the cloth of two volumes have been effected by damp staining also effecting front endpaper and first few pages, text of all volumes is clean and bright, all bindings are tight and in good condition, a good set. Melbourne; George Robertson; 1873-1889. Rare First Australian Editions mostly issued in the same year as the first London editions. Ouida was the pen name of Maria Louise Rame. During her career, Ouida wrote more than 40 novels, as well as short stories, children's books and essays.
