Among them was Jacob Rueff's De Conceptu et Generatione Hominis (1554), which appeared in a German edition, Ein schon lustig Trostbuchle, that same year. The Expert Midwife (1637) is the English translation of Rueff's "very cheerful book" on conception and childbirth.
