The printing was prepared from the first English translations of 1757. The two important monographs presented in facsimile are A Dissertation on the Motion of the Blood and on the Effects on Bleeding (1754), and A Second Dissertation on the Motion of the Blood, and Effects on Bleeding (1756). both first appeared in Latin and were based on presentations Haller made before the Gottingen Academy of Sciences, of which he was the founding president.
