This paper is about the recording and illustration of a large rock painting known as Painted Rock or Glen Isla 1 in the Grampians, Victoria. The Rev. John Mathew recorded this painting in about 1896. he published a description with a Lithograph in 1897. However this illustration and the sequence of the figures in Mathew's original was altered and the whole painting was compressed.
