Description: First Edition; No's 48 to 95 Demy 8vo; No's 96 to 132 Post 4to; pp. (an average of 70 pages per issue); numerous illustrations of photographs and maps, from issue 96 onwards mostly in colour, each issue bound in its original stiff illustrated wrappers, fine copies. Together with the Journal index for 1980-1994, and the History of the IMCoS 1980-2000 compiled by Susan Gole. IMCoS was formed in 1980, by Yasha Beresiner a London map and stamp dealer, the first issue of the society newsletter coming out in September 1980, a single sheet of A4 size paper, folded in half. The now quarterly IMCoS Journal has been published throughout the life of the Society. It includes articles by experts on a vast range of subjects relating to maps. The aim of the Journal has always remained the same, to report on the events taking place within the Society and to publish a range of articles of interest to the membership.
