Description: Demy 4to; pp. lxviii, 496, cxcv, 4; marbled endpapers, printed throughout in red and black, title page vignette, several parts of musical notation, index, bound in early polished calf, raised bands on spine, title lettered in gilt on spine, gilt stamped decoration to spine and front and back boards, all edges gilt, owner's leather bookplate on front endpaper ( James Hughes, Stephenstown), previous owner's silk thumb tags on several pages, very good copy. Paris; Sumptibus Societatis Bibliopolarum Catholicorum, Liturgiae Romane Editorum; 1852. Interesting to note that "Stephenstown " is located in the parish of Casteltown, Navan, on the Kells Ardee road ( Ireland ). Stephenstown House was a three story house, erected about 1760. In 1836 Stephenstown House was described as a fine house occupied by Henry Owens. in the 1850's James Hughes was leasing Stephenstown House and 262 acres from Rev. William Barlow.
