On February 13th 2008, 100 years will have passed since seven commissioners were elected as representatives of the Town District to the inaugural Morrinsville Town Board. At that time there were a few more than 50 houses , 3 roads, a railway station with Post Office, 2 churches, a school, a hotel, a smattering of businesses, and once-a-week banking. On attaining a population of 1000 residents the decision was made to form a Borough with a Council to manage it and the era of the Town Board came to a close on the 2nd May 1921. The aim of this book is to provide insight into the projects undertaken by the Board and the men involved in the decision-making. Morrinsville is a provincial town in the Waikato region of New Zealand's North Island.
