Description: First Edition; F'cap Folio; pp. 4, together with folding two part "Progress of Plan Geodetic Survey Of Victoria", very good copy. Melbourne; John Ferres, Government printer; 1873. Measurement commenced in January 1860 from the first survey marker point 'the South Base Stone' which is situated near the Hoppers Crossing Railway station, near Werribee. The Survey took 12 years to complete. The survey is a significant part of Victoria’s history and one that still impacts on every Victorian.
