The first edition of 1491of The Fasciculus Medicinae, it is important as one of the initial formal gatherings of medical knowledge of its period, however inaccurate that information may be by today's standards. The illustrations however are the first realistic illustrations to a medical book and are among the best woodcuts of the fifteenth and early sixteenth centuries. The text provides advice to physicians on prognosis from urine, techniques of bloodletting, obstetrics and wound treatment, etc.
