While obviously a product of 19th century, the editior claimed Stephens amended his denial of Madoc whether true or not and like Arthur himself obviously by sanity's clarity one would at least keep as open mind both ways than the critics. Sometimes despite flaws of their limitations older academics preserve something overlooked in a age moving faster than one's own mind.
