Description: London, Richard Bentley and Son. 1877, First Edition. Hard Cover, 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Two volume set with purple cloth, black and gold printing on front covers, gold on spine, bevelled edges on covers, brown end papers. Square solid copies with color fading of cloth on spines and along spines of both volumes. Light fading around edges of covers, a thin light stain along right side of front cover of volumetwo, otherwise all covers show light wear. Top edges of both books are dusty. Small pieces of cheap paper were used to mark about five places in volume 2, and the papers left small stains near the top of the page near the center gutter. A small amount of pencil writing on the back of the front free end paper of volume one, otherwise the interiors of both volumes are clean and unmarked. Good +.
