The Illustration is "TWO APPRENTICES" with a caricature of James Whistler who is satirized in the text as Joe Sibley. Whistler threatened to sue and the illustration was removed. SEPARATE ISSUES OF HARPER'S MONTHLY MAGAZINE, Jan. 1894-Dec. 1894, containing the first appearance of "Trilby" in the first 8 numbers, with 15 illustrations by Du Maurier in each episode.OTHER WORKS BY REMINGTON, WISTER A.B.
