Rell Clements, Jr. The USS Los Angeles ZR-3 - the most successful of the U.S. Navy's rigid airships, built in Germany by the Zeppelin Co. as the LZ-126. It crossed the Atlantic and landed at the U.S. Naval Base Oct. 15, 1924. No other Atlantic non-stop by air until the Lindbergh in 1927.
