Description: Newcomb, N. Y, 1905. Oblong 4to. Hardcover. Photo album with 75 photos, 3 1/2" x 2 1/2" on 18 pages, four-to-a page, unglued in pockets. Attached to front blank map of Newcomb, Essex County, N. Y. 12 1/2" x 10". The photos document travels to this lumber and iron ore center ca 1905. Twenty-nine photos are of tour members and local people, including log-drivers with poles, miners, & a woodworker. Eighteen photos include cabins, monuments, horse-drawn wagons with logs etc. Twenty eight are landscapes. The population of Newcomb in 1910 was 506; 456 in 2010. All photos are in fine condition - no soil, wear or marks. The black flexible hardcover album is very good. Very Good.
