Description: Paris, XXe siecle, 1962. First edition, softcover (12 1/2 x 9 3/4”, 31.5 x 24.5 cm) with the front cover illustrated by Georges Braque, 92 pp. not including supplements. Another issue of XXe Siècle published under the direction of G. di San Lazzaro surveying the landscape of the visual Arts on Christmas 1962. This number contains a wealth of reproductions in black and white and color by such artists as Van Gogh, Kandinsky, Bonnard, and Lam. Most notably, No. 20 includes three original color lithographs by Max Ernst, Manessier, and Baj. These reproductions are accompanied by articles in French by Brion, Hodin, and Kokoschka amongst others followed by the supplement, Chroniques du Jours, containing more articles and reviews of exhibitions including the 31st Venice Biennale. This copy is in good to very good condition with a small tear on the bottom right cover. Continuing the tradition of the wonderful Di San Lazzaro directed XXe Siecle Art series, this issue offers the bonus of 3 original color lithographs. A wonderful homage to these artists. Very Good .
