Brian Aldiss, one of the key figures in science fiction, was represented by Scovil. He also represented Arthur C. Clarke, Normal Mailer and many others. The dust jacket features a striking and surreal design reflecting the psychedelic and fragmented nature of the novel in a post-apocalyptic Europe following a “catastrophe war” in which hallucinogenic chemicals have been used as weapons. Aldiss, was well known for his contributions to the "New Wave" movement in science fiction. .
