First edition, hardcover in red cloth and gold gilt lettering (12 3/4 x 10”, 32 x 25 cm) with dust jacket, 138pp. A special number of the XXe siècle Art series published under the direction of G. di San Lazzaro and printed in Italy. This tribute contains twenty-eight colour reproductions (including 7 facsimile colour linocuts) and one hundred and fifty in black and white. Most noteworthy is an original colour lithograph print shown exclusively in this special number of XX Siecle. This book contains a complete overview of Picasso’s oeuvre accompanied by numerous essays in French from colleagues and friends such as Kahnweiler, Apollinaire, Eluard, and Verdet amongst many others. This copy is still crisp and in near fine condition, the dust jacket alone showing some very light wear. This wonderful homage in image and print from an artist who was a major influence on twentieth century aesthetics includes a complete panorama of his works with the coveted bonus of an original Picasso colour lithograph from 1958. .
